Prayer for October 20-26, 2019
Sermon Text: Luke 18:1-8
Just God, sometimes we are blind to
everything but our own desires. When we find our comfort zone, we simply settle
there. We act without concern that your will be done on earth as in heaven. We
turn a cold shoulder to our many neighbors who cry out for justice.
Forgive us for our self-centeredness.
Forgive us for overlooking our neighbors who long for the healing and
restoration that justice brings. Forgive us for letting things other than your
will take the central place in our lives.
Clear our vision. Fill us with compassion.
Move us to just action. Then accept our glad worship. Amen.
