Prayer for December 26, 2010 - January 1, 2011

Sermon Text: Psalm 148

That praise will be our characteristic language

Exalted God, we exult in You and delight to join our voices to the cosmic chorus that praises You without end. We praise You as creatures of your making and as caretakers of this earth through which You provide for and nourish us.

We sing with joy of your splendor and of the beauty and order You have created. Your energy and ingenuity are beyond our imagining, but we express our gratitude as fully and artfully as we can.

We sing with passion. We welcome, with hearts aflame, the One You have given us as Savior, Teacher, Model, Friend and Sovereign.

Do not let our voices be stilled. Let praise of You be the language that characterizes our daily lives and our corporate worship. Let every aspect of our lives match the praise we offer. Amen.
