PRAISE AND GLORY: PRAYERS OF PRAISE ENGAGING THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST
DAY 7 - WEDNESDAY
God sets before us the ways of life and death.
O Wise Teacher, You have set
life and death before us
and called us to choose.
You have given your word of
command
that orders our covenant
relationship with You
and guides us in loving
action
within the covenant community
that You have created.
Because of your command,
we need not face each moment
of decision
as though we had no guidance.
Because of the presence of
your Spirit among us,
we are able to discern the
path of faithful love
in situations that are
unfamiliar to us.
You enable faithful decision
through your steadfast
companionship and your patient instruction.
We choose the path of life, hoping
that You will energize our action,
forgive us when we fail, and
accept any glory
that arises from the bold
choices we make in your presence. Amen.
