DAY 17 - MONDAY
God bestows upon us the Holy Spirit, creating and
renewing the church
of Jesus Christ
O Holy Spirit, in the wind
and flame of Pentecost
You have created the church
and marked it with your own
freedom and energy.
You have shaped our life together
around the life of Jesus Christ,
our Savior and Model.
You have given us the mind of
Christ
and gifted us with many
abilities for serving each other,
for nurturing and
strengthening each other,
so that we may live bold
lives of faith in the face of forces
that would undermine and
dissipate our zeal.
When we falter, when we sin,
You raise up prophetic voices
among us who speak to our hearts,
help us to see our failures,
and enable us to return to
paths that are just and true.
O Spirit, You who are our
constant companion
and source of deepest
comfort,
guide us into full maturity as
followers of Christ.
Let the flames of your
presence ignite our passion
so that it burns steadily
with your glory. Amen.
