PRAISE AND GLORY: PRAYERS OF PRAISE ENGAGING THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST STATEMENT OF FAITH

DAY 6 - TUESDAY

God creates humankind in the divine image.

You who delight in the creation

You have shaped by your living word,

we rejoice that You have made us in your own image,

rejoice that our lives are tinged with reflections of your glory.

We rejoice that you have breathed your own Spirit

into us to give us life and energize us

for careful and courageous faithfulness.

We praise You for creating us

so that we may perceive and know You

as You reveal yourself to us.

You have appointed us as stewards of your earth,

to nurture and name its abundance and variety

in humble gratitude.

You have created us for each other, so that our bonds of love

are a reflection of the diversity in unity

that You have revealed yourself to be.

We delight in You.  We worship your glorious name.

We rejoice that You have made us for yourself

and give thanks that You have not kept yourself

hidden beyond all human knowing.

We are yours, for You created us.

Let our lives reflect more of your glory.  Amen.
