Prayer for February 24-March 2, 2019
Sermon Text: Luke 6:17-26
That your words of wisdom will penetrate and transform our hearts and mind
Jesus, let your
healing power fall upon us. Let your words of wisdom penetrate and transform
our hearts and minds. Give us understanding. Expand our vision. Enable us to
see our neighbors as You see them. Give us courage to speak and act as we have
seen You speak and act. Help us not to be afraid of those who reject your
announcements of blessing and woe.
Your teaching is
often difficult for us. We have learned the ways of the world very thoroughly
and we often have difficulty extricating ourselves from the deceits of wealth
and the lures of praise. Free us from those snares.
May your Spirit
enable us to walk with You for the glory of God. May we receive your blessing
as God’s gift and be full of gratitude and thanksgiving. Amen.
Note: I accidentally reversed the order of the gospel passages for February 17 and March 24. This should have been the reading for February 17.
