Prayer for March 13-19, 2016
Sermon Text: Isaiah 43:16-21
That we may receive with joy and hope the future You are creating
God of wonders and God of newness, how can we forget the ways that You
have acted in the past? How can we forget exodus? How can we forget cross and
resurrection? How can we forget the many ways that You have acted for our
deliverance? You have caused so much rejoicing among us. How can we forget?
As we rejoice in You, enable us to see the places of fertility and
fruitfulness that You are planting and watering in the wastelands with which we
are familiar. Let us drink deeply of your refreshing streams. As we experience
the newness that You are creating, let our praise and good works ripple through
city streets, through town and country, in fields cultivated by human hands,
and in the wild places that sometimes delight and sometimes terrify us.
Help
us to receive, with hope and joy, the future that You are creating as an
expression of your inexhaustible love and creativity. We delight in your
presence and your gifts. Amen.
