PRAYING FOR GOD'S REIGN: LENTEN PRAYERS
DAY 33: FRIDAY
Our Father
Loving Father and Mother, we long to live in
deep intimacy with You. We want to live in continual awareness of your
presence. We want to breathe your breath and think your thoughts after You. We
want to bask in your radiance and reflect your glory to the world around us. We
want to live in such deep unity with You that it seems there is only one will
between us—yours!
You have created us for communion with
You, but we sometimes forget and expect to find our deepest satisfaction by
attaching ourselves to diverse people and interests. We have mistaken gifts for
Giver.
Forgive us when we allow anything to
separate us from your great love. Turn our faces to look again upon your face.
Soften our hearts to unite with yours. Let your Spirit heal and restore our
spirit.
We are so thankful that You have made
yourself known to us through Jesus Christ. We rejoice to be yours. We rejoice
that You are ours by your own choice. Amen.
