PRAYERS 2018: PRAYING THE DAILY GOSPEL
FIFTH
WEDNESDAY
Mark 8:11-26
Christ, our
Provider, we are like others who have received abundant blessings from your
hands and seen You do wondrous things, but who still crave some sign that
validates your authority and proves that You are God’s Messiah, God’s Agent of
Newness.
You act
with compassion toward many who are in need: healing the sick, feeding the
hungry, liberating the spiritually oppressed, but refuse to do anything merely
as a display of power that might satisfy the curiosity of the curious, quell
the doubts of those who doubt, or overcome the resistance of those who resist
You.
Though we
sometimes doubt, we trust in You. Forgive us when our doubts arise because we
are resistant to the truth You would teach us and the path in which You would
lead us. We ask that You open our eyes more fully to your presence among us,
that You completely heal the blindness of our hearts. Amen.
