LENTEN PRAYERS
WALKING WITH JESUS
Day 25: Wednesday
Mark 6:1-6a
Jesus, we imagine that we
would never question the source of your authority. We imagine that in our familiarity with what
we have heard and known of You, we would never become inattentive or dismissive
of your instruction to us. Yet many of
us live many of our days as though we do not know You, have no faith that your
promise of God’s nearness is true, and have no confidence that your teaching
guides us into life that is full and fruitful.
Forgive us when we are
unmoved by your presence and power.
Forgive us when we find You offensive because You do not meet our
expectations or seem too familiar to us.
Forgive us when our unbelief stymies your ability to work among us and
accomplish your desire for us.
Restore a sense of awe in
us. Enable us to see the extraordinary
life that You live among us and to which You call us. Enable us to follow You in hope and obey You
with joy as we walk with You day after day.
Amen.
