LENTEN PRAYERS
WALKING WITH JESUS
Day 27: Friday
Mark 6:14-29
Christ Jesus, enable us to
walk with You in faithfulness even when there is widespread misunderstanding
about who You are and noisy opposition to your agenda of forgiveness, healing
and liberation.
Give us courage to act
fearlessly, even when powerful people and powerful systems do everything in
their power to carry out an agenda of control, through violence, that injures,
enslaves and destroys many people.
Help us to do good without
growing weary, even when progress is slow and we encounter heartbreaking
setbacks. Help us to speak truth to
power, without wavering, even when the powers that be demand our silence. Help us to act faithfully, and without
anxiety, because we are not walking alone.
We trust You to walk with us and work through us for the fulfillment of
your mission. Amen.
