LENTEN PRAYERS

WALKING WITH JESUS

Day 16: Saturday

Mark 3:13-19

Jesus, Son of God, how we rejoice that You came to renew Israel.  How we rejoice to know that our own well-being as your people is linked to God’s promises for Israel.

We are blessed because You came to bless Israel.  We are forgiven because You are the agent of Israel’s forgiveness.  We are healed because of the healing You did in Israel.  We are liberated from many forms of spiritual bondage because You rebuked and vanquished spirits that had held many captive in Israel.

Thank You for the twelve who answered your call, who walked beside You for many weeks, and who were sent to declare and enact the liberating reign of God that came close in your own person.  Thank You for all of those who have continued the chain of responsiveness and ministry that You initiated, and to which You called them.  Thank You that we, too, have become part of your movement, your reign, because we have heard and experienced your message of forgiveness, healing and liberation through others. 

Enable us to declare your word and enact your healing as we walk with You.  Amen.
